Born in Dublin (Ireland) on 17 February 1956. Electronics Engineer (B.E., M.Eng.Sc.) from University College Dublin (1979). Licence and Doctorate in Theology from the University of Navarre (1987).
Ordained a priest on 6
June 1982 by St John Paul II in the Basilica of St Peter's (Rome). Incardinated in the Prelature of Opus Dei.
Taught theology at the University of Navarre (1985-90), and from 1990 at the School of Theology of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross ("Santa Croce"). Vice-Rector at "Sedes Sapientiae" International Ecclesiastical College (1991-95). Academic Vice-Rector at Santa Croce (1998-2000). Dean of the School of Theology (2000-2008). Professor of Theological Anthropology (2004-). Spiritual Director at Collegio Ecclesiastico Internazionale "Sedes Sapientiae" (2009-). Director of the Department of Dogmatic Theology (2012-), Director of the Centro di Formazione Sacerdotale (2016-2020).
